Equine Breeding Contract

Kara Hollabaugh  (Breeder) agrees to provide Stallion services (Larks Gold AQHA Registration No. 3214773, or Skybars Flashmyskip AQHA Reg. No.4206551) to __________________________(horse’s name), AQHA/APHA Registration No._________________(if applicable), owned by, _________________(Owner’s Name) under the terms and conditions of this Contract.

Service Stipulations

1. The mare shall be deemed clean and serviceable by a licensed veterinarian.

2. The mare shall have current inoculations including, Rabies, EIA, Rhino Flu and EWT.

3. The mare shall be serviced during the first visible heat cycle, or according to recommendations by a licensed veterinarian.

4. The mare will have all shoes removed prior to coming to SkyBar Farm. If they are not removed, the mare
    owner will be billed for their removal.

Breeding Management

1. The mare shall be stall kept until visible heat is exhibited.

2. The mare shall be teased by a resident gelding each day to determine the onset of heat.

3. The mare shall be covered on the third and fifth day of heat.

4. The mare will be hand bred if possible.

5. If the mare does not exhibit heat within 21 days, or if she will not stand for service without kicking and/or rearing, she will be         pastured with the stallion to induce breeding. Pasture breeding will only be performed if all other service options are unsuccessful.

Determination of Viable Pregnancy

1. Viable pregnancy shall be determined by a licensed veterinarian by means of palpation or ultrasound techniques within 30
    days of the last service.

2. A record of said verification must be forwarded to the Breeder within 45 days of last cover to validate the warranty.

Warranty and Guarantee

1. This Contract includes a live foal guarantee. Live foal is defined, as the foal is alive for a minimum of 60 minutes after birth.

2. If a live foal is not delivered, a licensed veterinarian shall determine why the mare aborted and determine the mare
    serviceable prior to rebreeding.

3. The Breeder agrees to rebreed a mare of the owner’s choice with no additional breeding fee for a period of 14 months
    after the date of this service. Board fess will be charged for rebreeding.

Breeding and Board Fees

1. The breeding fee is $450 for Larks Gold and $250 for Skybars Flashmyskip and is non-refundable ($100 is included for booking fee)

2. Board fees are $10 per day. Mares with foals will be charged a fee of $12 per day..

3. Feed is fed in quantities stipulated by the Owner. Supplemental feeds shall be provided at the Owner’s cost.

Limited Liability Statement

Larks Gold is an experienced breeding stallion with no incidents of damage to any mare to date. Safety Precautions shall be maintained at all times to limit risk to the mare and stallion, however, if damage to either the mare or stallion. occurs, no expressed warranty for the mare is offered. The Breeder recommends the Owner insure the mare prior to breeding to provide compensation if damage to the mare or death occurs during the breeding process.

This contract must be returned to Kara Hollabaugh prior to breeding with the $100 booking fee enclosed. A copy will be sent back to the Owner for his/her records.
