New FDA Regulations

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has released new regulations pertaining to the importation of food products as required under the Public Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002.

As an importer of FDA regulated products, you are affected in two ways:
  • You must insure that all of your foreign suppliers are registered with the FDA as required. Shipments from a non-registered supplier will not be permitted into the country. Registration of Supplier
  • You must ensure that we as your customs broker have the necessary documentation, so that we may transmit your import information in accordance with the prior notice requirements. Prior Notice Requirements These new regulations will go into effect on December 12, 2003.
